About our Education

All our courses and workshops are about Sustainable Living, which includes material and spiritual subjects.

The material subjects focus on the most critical needs of humanity, specifically obtaining food, water, and shelter in sustainable ways. We often don't know where our water comes from; what to speak of how to grow our food, or how to build a home without spending a small fortune. Such knowledge is essential to changing our paradigm. Education in secondary necessities, such as how to sustainably provide clothing, utensils, furniture, and similar crafts is not part of our curriculum at this time.

The spiritual subjects focus on the essential elements of spiritual knowledge and culture. These include subjects such as understanding the difference between matter and spirit, an in-depth understanding of action (karma), the transmigration of the soul, the nature of spiritual relationships, and so forth. Some classes may include core concepts from a range of philosophical and spiritual schools of thought, for comparative and deeper understanding.

Truly sustainable living cannot be achieved without both spiritual and material knowledge.

  • Understanding our own spiritual nature empowers us to live more simply and peacefully, which helps us avoid consumerism and other destructive lifestyles.
  • Living more harmoniously with nature creates a peaceful environment, which is much more conducive to spiritual realization than a typical modern high-pressure lifestyle.

These both go hand-in-hand. Lack of knowledge and facility in either category can halt progress in both.

We offer these courses in three categories: Sustainable Lifestyles, Spiritual Consciousness, and Sustainable Civilization. The full curriculum is still being developed as of Summer 2014.

Location

We are located in Dallas, Texas, and all courses and workshops will be conducted in the Dallas area or at rural areas outside Dallas.

Unless otherwise stated, classes are held at a classroom at Kalachandji's Restaurant in East Dallas, at 5430 Gurley Ave, Dallas, 75223.

Full-day and half-day courses may be taught at a location of your choosing with 10 or more people attending.

Course Length

  • Weekly series are two-hour classes, typically one or two days per week, unless noted otherwise. If a series is full, a second session may start again in the middle of an existing one, in a second weekly time slot.
  • Half-day courses are 4 hours, in one day.
  • Full-day courses are 7 - 8 hours with a lunch break, in one day.
  • Multiple-day seminars and workshops are 7-8 hours per day unless noted otherwise. Some workshops may be spread over several weekends.

Starting Dates

All classes are available in early 2014 except as otherwise noted.

Classes labeled as "Coming Soon" or similar designations do not have start dates yet. Please check back periodically. If you want to be notified of start dates for particular classes coming soon please send us your email address and which courses you're interested in via email to   This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. Class Sizes

Some classes specify a minimum number of students. If the minimum number is not met, the instructor has the option to hold the class anyway, postpone the class to a later date, or cancel the class. If the class is postponed attendees have the option to attend on the new date or get a full refund. If the class is canceled you will get a full refund.

Some people don't sign up until the last minute, which makes it hard for the instructor to know the class size in advance. If the instructor decides to cancel or postpone a class, you will be notified no later than the day before the class, by email or phone based on information you provided during registration.

Class Prices

Some classes have a suggested donation and not a fixed price. We believe spiritual education should be available to everyone free of charge, and that no one should be excluded for economic reasons. Contributions are always appreciated, even if someone cannot give the suggested amount. Please contribute according to your means, even if that means contributing more or less than the suggested amount.

There is sometimes an opportunity to contribute time and labor in assisting the instructor, which is also appreciated.

We make every attempt to keep our prices and suggested donations at levels most people can easily afford.

Registration and Payment

Please click on the course title to register and pay for a class. Your payment online is your registration. Please include any information you want the instructor to have, such as a preferred email address or a phone number.

- PLEASE NOTE THAT THE PAYMENT SECTION IS STILL UNDER CONSTRUCTION -

If you want only one class, or a few classes out of a series, pay the single class price for each of the classes, and specify which classes you want. For example, if you want only three classes out of a series, and the per-class price is $15, you would pay $45 and specify which 3 classes you want.

PayPal transaction costs will be added to listed prices.
